Spectre Shift
You're the night shift.
A haunted house, a stopwatch, and a quota. The ghosts are completely invisible — all you get is a signal meter, a rising beep, and a handheld scanner that glows harder the closer you get.
Find them by ear. Corner them. Hold the beam until they're in the trap.
• Hunt blind. Ghosts only shimmer into view when you're nearly on top of them. Everything else is signal strength and nerve.
• Four kinds of tenant. Dopey wisps, smug shades, frantic polters and furious wraiths — each worth more, and each harder to hold.
• They fight back. Ghosts panic and flee the moment the beam lands. Past halfway they stop running and start getting dragged toward you instead.
• Spend the night's takings. Five upgrades: detector reach, payout, beam power, boots, lantern.
• No fail state. Miss quota and you replay the night — and you keep every penny you earned.
Every pixel and every sound in this game is generated by two Python scripts — no asset packs, nothing downloaded. 256×256, 28 colours, chiptune.
